Albert Jones died in August 1923 as a result of a terrible street car accident, just five days after his only son, Harold, was born. Albert's widow, Violet returned home to her widowed father's farm in Martindale, Quebec, and subsequent married for a second time two years later to Edmond Delcorde.
In 1942, the 18 year old Harold joined the Canadian Army and went off to war in France. While there was never a legal adoption, Harold was now legally known as Harold Jones-Delcorde. In 1947, Harold returned from war. He met the lovely Donaldine Fraser at a dance in December of that year. They married on May 8, 1948 after a whirlwind romance.
Their first child, a daughter, was born on February 24, 1949. Mary Ann was named for her great grandmother, Mary Ann Fraser (née Delaney). Harold and Donna's second child, a son, was born on February 4, 1958 and named David Harold Jones-Delcorde.
David married Cindi Jean Neilson on November 1982, and they had three children -
- Cole Fraser William
- Adam David Harold
- Brooke Neilson
Cole, like both of his grandfathers before him, joined the Canadian Armed Forces. Cole returned to using the "Jones" surname, married Theresa Candace Bell, and together they have a son and a daughter.
Adam became a physician and continues to be know by the "Jones-Delcorde" surname.
Brooke married and took the surname of her new husband, Phillip Charles Linden. She earns her PhD in Epidemiology in 2019. They are expecting their first child in June 2020.
